Configuring Shipping

Use this screen to configure the Storewide Fixed shipping Look-up table data for computing shipping. The actual shipping method is determined on a product-by-product basis in the product link or by the storewide shipping settings you specify in the SalesCart wizard. What you are setting here is the numeric shipping amount for fixed shipping. SalesCart PRO has the ability to specify more than 9 different ways to compute shipping and not all of them use the fixed shipping lookup table. If you have PRO configured for product-based shipping, whole-order shipping or some other shipping method it may not use the values located here.

To configure Shipping from the Order Management Menu, click on Store Administration>>Configure Shipping. The Configure Shipping screen should appear.

Configuring Shipping (order management)

Shipping Options are simply entries in the shipping table where you define a specific range (weight, volume, size, etc.) linked to a specific destination linked to a specific cost/method of shipping. Each of these particular linkages will make up one shipping option. If your customers order meets all of these particular definitions, you customer will be presented with this shipping option as a choice. You may set-up multiple overlapping shipping options to present your customer with more than one shipping choice. You must set up an option for every single possible range or circumstance when using fixed shipping. However, it is possible to setup a very large encompassing range so that no more than one or possible two or three options are required. Basically, the complexity of your shipping will dictate the complexity and number of shipping options that are required.
