Customer Fulfillment

Order Fulfillment allows you and your customers to track where you are in the process of completing a transaction through the different phases of your specific process. Tracking issues such as Just-In-Time inventory, packing merchandise, receiving funds, shipping a package and monitoring the progress of shipping via an on-line shipper. Tracking this process, and allowing your customers to review the status and completion of your order via SalesCart, can reduce customer calls about simple status items, reduce overhead costs associated with these functions and increase customer satisfaction. Tracking fulfillment is accomplished the the Order Retrieval screen via the Manage Orders button on the main menu. Getting to the Order Retrieval is covered in a previous section. For your review, this screen looks like this:

There are 3 actions that you can perform relative to order fulfillment for each order.

  1. You may add a fulfillment action: A fulfillment action is simply an action in "your process" necessary for you to translate a "received order" to a product delivered. You may edit the 3_do-fill.asp web page and change the drop drown list of items for Available Actions to any actions you deem appropriate for your operation. Some basic actions are already defined. Each action may be flagged as complete or partially complete, include a person that is notified, a note of information, and an email or phone number of the person contacted. By default, these are determined from the placed order but may be changed. Clicking the Add button adds the action to order which the customer can see when they retrieve and review the status of their order.
  2. You may change an existing fulfillment action: In the Edit Previous Fulfillment Actions Table, you may change all of the same parameters for an earlier fulfillment action already entered. For each action, make the change and click on the Change button to save the new action.
  3. Email Customer or Fulfillment house: In this table, you may send a free-form email to any email address about this particular fulfillment action. The form will be complete with the assumption that you are going to mail the customer with an email with the shipper ID and a link to an on-line shippers email address so they may track their shipping, but you can place anything you want in there relative to the order. You may also send information to a drop shipping merchant or other facility, etc. relative to order fulfillment. Click on Email when you are ready to send the email.
